Volunteer Opportunities With Ruff Draft

Because we’re foster-based, adoption and community events are one of the best ways to introduce our dogs to the public. Events may be held at local pet stores and businesses to connect dogs with adopters.

Event Team volunteers help:

• Coordinate adoption or fundraising events
• Staff events and represent Ruff Draft
• Answer questions from the public
• Help care for dogs during events

Vet Runners play a critical role in keeping our dogs healthy and on schedule.

This role includes:

• Transporting dogs to and from routine vet appointments
• Pick-up and drop-off for spay/neuter or surgical visits
• Providing calm, safe transport for dogs in our care

Adoption Coordinators help guide families through the adoption process and ensure responsible placements.

Responsibilities include:

• Communicating with prospective adopters
• Reviewing and processing applications
• Facilitating meet-and-greets
• Completing adoption paperwork and placements

Volunteers assist with:

• Receiving dogs at intake
• Helping dogs get bathed and settled
• Providing calm support during arrival
• Occasionally meeting transport teams to assist with the final leg of a dog’s journey
